Employee Spotlight: Miranda, Farm Account Manager

We recently sat down with Miranda, an inspiring individual whose personal and professional values come together to serve Farmers at Barn2Door. In this edition of our Employee Spotlight series, we’ll learn more about Miranda’s journey, how she aids Farmers in their success, and what advice she has for candidates interested in joining our growing team.

Miranda joined us 1½ years ago from a Fortune 500 company. With a deep passion for preserving the planet and a desire to work for a tech start-up, Miranda knew she could make a difference in the world by working at Barn2Door. Starting as a salesperson, Miranda has risen to leading the Account Management Team. In her role, Miranda supports the Account Managers to aid Farmers in growing their brand, serving their local communities, and implementing the right tools to build a thriving direct-to-market Farm business. 

How has Barn2Door changed since you started working at Barn2Door?

There were about 30 - 40 employees when I first started, and now we’re surpassing 80! What’s great about a high-growth startup is that there is always room for change. I began working on the sales team where I learned how to interact with Farmers, understand their needs, and help them achieve their goals. The time I spent on the sales team prepared me for my role on the success team, where I am now. It’s nice to be at a company that supports role transitions, where employees can work on teams where they’ll be the most successful. 


What are your day-to-day responsibilities?

Our job on the Success Team is to work with Farmers who are using Barn2Door. I get to talk with Farmers all day, where my purpose is to help them implement best practices to grow and manage their businesses. To help Farms reach their full potential, my team and I keep up with the latest market trends, tools, and best ways Farmers can serve their customers, grow their brand, and build a thriving business. It’s key to stay on top of these trends to help Farmers succeed.

What makes working at Barn2Door special?

Everyone at Barn2Door is working towards the same mission and goal. We all strive to make a difference and help Farmers succeed. This makes it easy to wake up in the morning and go to work, knowing that you’re going to make a difference - either teaching a Farmer something new or just providing a Farmer with the tools to help them save time. 


How would you describe the company culture?

Barn2Door is fun, challenging, and everyone that works here truly embodies the core values. One of our values is Heart. Every day, we’re here to help Farmers because we care so deeply about their success. It’s nice to be a part of a company where everyone is excited and motivated to do their jobs every day. The work can be challenging, but that motivates me to work harder for Farmers. I’ve never been a part of a culture that weaves all these elements together. 


What is one piece of advice you’d give someone looking to join Barn2Door?

My biggest piece of advice is not to be afraid of hard work! Being an employee at Barn2Door means that you are contributing to the company’s success and growth, but you are also making a massive impact on Farmers’ businesses. This is no small task! With that said, I wouldn’t change anything - I genuinely enjoy coming to work every day. Barn2Door is the best place to be, and I wouldn’t want to work anywhere else!
