At Barn2Door we are big fans of being ready to talk to—and support—all users of our platform. We want 1. Farmers who use Barn2Door to be successful, 2. Farmers’ Buyers to have questions answered in real-time as they shop, and 3. To be able to answer questions from new Farmers coming to Barn2door.com.

We have real-time Chat available to all three groups, whether a first-time Farmer shows up on Barn2door with questions, a Farmer has a quick question while navigating their account, or one of the Farmers’ buyers wants to confirm a recent order. 

When it comes to online sales and support, Chat makes the world go round. If you visited a store in your community, there would be a cashier or associate to answer any questions you might have. They help only if you want, being ready but also respectful of your space. Chat is pretty much the same. We are here if you need us and ready to give information on an as-needed basis to facilitate sales and a good experience.

If a Farmer visits Barn2Door, and they are just learning about our service and how we work with other Farmers, they might have a quick question. While we try to load our site with information (from pricing to features, how-it-works and FAQs), we might be missing a detail or a Farm might want to understand how migrating online could benefit their Farm. Watching a short video often helps but sometimes a real-person is more personable—and the right path for quick information! We have a little chat icon on the bottom right of our main website, www.barn2door.com for Farmers looking to learn more, who might have questions or need help.

Farmer Chat with Your Barn2Door Account (For Business & Scale Subscription Tiers)

For Farmers that use Barn2Door, we provide real-time customer service through Chat. Whenever a Farmer logs into their Barn2Door Seller account (aka Dashboard), they can ask questions of Chat Support at any time. When we tell Farmers “our Team is on your Team” we mean it. Software for Farmers to manage their business is just the start—we want Farmers to know they have a whole ‘live’ Team working for their success. 

Farmers have a lot of Support: they can submit a help ticket, email our support team, Chat real-time to staff, ping their Onboarding or Account Manager and/or access the Learn Center—full of DIY videos, eBooks, Blogs and past newsletters. Farmers love Chat, as it is ideal for a quick answer as they are navigating their account. A lot of Farmers use Chat more when they are just getting started and learning the system, but it is a great go-to for ‘remind me where this is’ and ‘I have a quick question about this new feature.’

For example, a Farm may have a question about updating a schedule or finding their order details. They can type their question into Chat Support in the lower right hand corner, and our Support Team will see the question come through and either answer it immediately or work to resolve it quickly. The team will open a ticket at no extra cost to the Farmer, and resolve the issue as quickly as possible.

Buyer Chat on Farmers’ Stores (Scale Subscription Tier Only)

Buyers today expect ‘real-time customer service’ when they shop online. Believe it or not, online shoppers like to complete their shopping experience without talking to people (who wants to call Amazon or the online grocery store or shoe store when trying to buy online?). People expect to see all the information they need to complete their order (price, description, timing and fulfillment options). That said, when they DO actually have a question—they increasingly expect a ‘quick answer.’ If the information isn’t evident after a little digging, the buyers turn to Chat Support. Chat support helps answer questions to drive sales, and is now considered an ecommerce best practice. 

When Farms subscribe to Barn2Door, they can choose the “Scale” plan to add real-time, staffed Chat Support for their Buyers (40h/wk). This means that as buyers use the Farmer’s store to shop for products from the Farm, they can ask questions and receive answers in real time, from our Team on behalf of the Farm. 

For example, if a Farm’s customer was having trouble finding eggs for sale in the store, they could click on the green chat icon in the lower right corner, and be greeted by a Barn2Door Support Team member. The customer can ask their question and be pointed toward the filters on the left hand side, or walked through searching for a product—all in an effort to make sure that buyer completes the purchase for the eggs and the Farm receives that order and income. 

Of course, if there’s questions that only the Farm can answer, such as inquiries about their practices or products, the Support Team sends a full transcript of the chat to that Farm, to make sure the customer’s question gets answered.
