Barn2Door partners with the Women, Food, and Agriculture Network

(Seattle, WA) - Barn2Door is excited to announce a partnership with the Women, Food, and Agricultural Network.

Women, Food, and Agriculture Network (WFAN) is a community-based organization centered around women in agriculture. Representing more than 10,000+ women Farmers across the country. WFAN is working towards giving the knowledge, connections, and information women Farmers need to succeed in sustainable agriculture. With hands-on training, education, and mentorship, WFAN is impacting the lives of countless women in agriculture. For example, they host an annual conference, which brings together 300+ women in the food and agriculture industry. WFAN is working towards recognizing and promoting the contributions of women within agriculture.

Barn2Door understands the importance of women in agriculture---and in agtech. Barn2Door is a female-founded and female-led company that makes it easy for Farmers to sell food online - under their own brand. Today, 53% of Company’s personnel are women and serve in a variety of roles across the business - marketing, sales, design, success and operations. The CEO stated, “we are delighted to already be working directly with a number of WFAN Farmers, to come behind them to help them promote their brand, maximize their margins and strengthen their customer relationships.”

The Company’s CEO and Founder, Janelle Maiocco, has been recognized as one of Forbes Women 40-over-40 to watch nationally given her passion and impact to promote local Farms. Maiocco is no stranger to the uphill challenges facing women, especially as a venture-backed technology CEO. It is estimated that less than 3% of venture capital money goes to female-led companies - despite a higher success rate and higher overall rate of return on investment (versus their male counterparts).

“At Barn2Door, we aim to hire the best candidate in every role, regardless of gender. As it turns out, today half of our employees are women. We value the diversity of thought, expertise and experience that each employee brings to the table - men and women alike.”

Barn2Door is inspired by WFAN's mission to promote women in the food and agriculture world. This partnership will help shine a light on both sustainable agriculture and female Farmers, and help build a stronger community within the agriculture world.

As part of the WFAN partnership, Barn2Door is pleased to announce:

  • WFAN members will receive a $100 refund on Barn2Door setup fees with an annual subscription

  • Barn2Door will donate one-month of their subscription to support WFAN ongoing education and outreach

  • A WFAN Farmer will be featured seasonally in Barn2Door blog posts to promote and highlight the contribution of women in agriculture
