New! Barn2Door Unlock Feature - Farmers Gain More Control Over Selling Speciality Items
How often do specialty or seasonal items in high demand - bacon, huckleberries, or coveted farm eggs - fly off your shelves? With the new Barn2Door Unlock Feature, Farmers now have more control over which items Buyers can purchase, making it easier to reward loyal Buyers with exclusive access to certain items.
How does it work? In the Barn2Door platform, Farmers can assign any product as a ‘gateway item’. When a product gets this label, Buyers who purchase that item “unlock” access to a ‘private section in your store’ to gain access to buy products not available to the general public.
Buyers will see the gated item as it appears normally, but with the designation “Unlocks More Items.” This will indicate that when the purchase is completed, they will receive an invitation to access more of your products!
How can Farmers use this feature?
Incentivize CSA Commitment(s) with Exclusive Add-Ons.
Farmers can now ensure Buyers purchase a CSA Box before they can subscribe to (or Add-On) smaller items like eggs, bread, honey, flowers.
Reward Purchase of Big Ticket Items.
Selling half hogs, whole lambs or quarter beef? Farmers can make these Big Ticket Items ‘gateway items’ so that once a deposit or purchase is made, Buyers can have access to exclusive, high demand items like bacon, high-end steaks or extra lamb legs.
Member Program.
Some Farmers we know offer member programs to incentivize frequent purchases and access to specific items. For example, a $25 Membership (tagged as a ‘gated item’) could automatically unlock access to exclusive items that are super seasonal with low supply (jujubes, farm eggs, cassis) OR simply offer common items at a discount (with membership, pay less!).
How it Works.
After the purchase of the ‘gated item’ is complete, the private section of a Farmers’ store is automatically ‘unlocked’ and Buyers will receive an email to confirm!
Buyers will always have access to the ‘private store’ unless the Farmer removes them (which they can do at anytime on their Customer Tab). Farmers can also manually invite any customer to view exclusive items in the private section of their store, whether they have purchased ‘gated items’ or not.
This new feature saves Farmers time, gives them more control over high demand or specialty products, provides a way for Farmers to increase sales and reward loyal customers!
