Curious “Why” Barn2Door charges a Setup Fee? Get the Details

Yes, Barn2Door charges a setup fee for its services. All of our pricing is posted online for your Farm’s information, review and transparency.

As the largest all-in-one solution for Farmers to grow and manage their business in the United States, Barn2Door has an entire Success team dedicated to servicing 1,000’s of Farmers across all 50 states. And, of course, we do not mark-up your Farm products or take an “add-on” percentage of your gross sales (e.g., whereas some solutions take 2-7% of a Farmer’s gross sales).

We are often asked to provide some justification for the upfront setup fees charged by Barn2Door, whereas other competing solutions charge less or nothing at all. And, no, we do not provide a “free trial” either - because we are full service.

Here are the details of what is included with your Barn2Door setup fees when you choose to work with our team:

1. Onboarding

You gain access to a Farm Onboarding team that provides live virtual workshops to assist with set-up, configuration, and recommended best practices (attend as often as you like and/or invite other team members to join). Farmers in our Business and Scale Subscription also have access to a named Farm Onboarding Manager, who will work 1:1 week-over-week during the onboarding process. Barn2Door will ensure schedules are posted, fulfillment options setup, and shopping is integrated across web, social, and email —so you can start capturing online sales asap.

2. Design Assets

You gain access to an entire team of professional designers who will build a website customized for your Farm, a branded newsletter template, email collection form, and a QR code for your Farm. For what it’s worth, the setup fees do not cover Barn2Door’s total costs of these design assets. Barn2Door subsidizes the ‘out of pocket’ design costs, knowing it is necessary to a Farmers’ online brand and success (paying dividends long term).

3. Domain Name Services

Your Onboarding Manager CIS lead will spearhead a Domain Name Service (DNS) transfer and re-direct from other third-party providers to ensure a seamless transition, setup, and launch of a new website on your current domain. Note, you always maintain rights to your domain name, much like you own your own mobile phone number (which follows you to any provider).

4. Email Services

Your Onboarding Manager CIS lead will spearhead an email transfer and configuration and setup with your new DNS provider—such that your Farm email can remain consistent. Note, you always maintain ownership of your email service provider relationship. We recommend Google, Microsoft, or Yahoo mail services.

5. Stock Photography

You gain access to an entire library of stock photography that is worth thousands of dollars. The library is fully licensed and ever-expanding (based on feedback from our Farmers); photos are available to your Farm for your free and unencumbered use during the term of your subscription.

6. Learn Center

You gain access to an entire library of do-it-yourself (DIY) resources, video tutorials,  and documentation that is constantly updated and improved based on new Barn2Door innovations and Farmer feedback. There are more than 100+ self-serve video tutorials at your fingertips.

7. Community Forum

Farmers gain access to open discussions, insights from the Barn2Door Team, and 1:1 interaction with Farm Advisors to learn best practices to grow and manage your business on Barn2Door. Farmers can post topics in our moderated forum and expect timely answers and responses from our entire Barn2Door Community.

8. Security Certificates

Your Farm store’s security administration is handled and maintained 100% by Barn2Door, including requesting and implementing a Secure Socket Layer (SSL) certificate to ensure all financial transactions are encrypted and managed pursuant to commercial best practices.

9. Security & Privacy Insurance

Your Farm store’s security and privacy compliance are fully maintained and insured by Barn2Door. We maintain a multi-million dollar policy protecting all of our Farms in the event of a security or privacy breach. To our knowledge, no other service provider offers the same protection explicitly for Farmers.

The old adage—“you get what you pay for” is true when it comes to supporting your Farm’s efforts to build a consistent and beautifully branded experience across all online channels (web, mobile, social, email, and newsletters).

We recognize that Barn2Door may not be the “right fit” for every Farmer and encourage your Farm to do its research. To learn more about the success that other Farmers are having with Barn2Door, we encourage you to visit the growing number of Farmer Testimonials.
