Online Farm Classes: Barn2Door Academy Roundup

Overview

Barn2Door offers Academy classes hosted by successful independent Farmers, industry experts and team members to provide best practices, insights and advice for Farm businesses. To make the most of each session, all virtual classes are live and interactive to ensure your questions are addressed. Topics include:

  • Email Marketing (Mailchimp)

  • Farm Finances (Quickbooks)

  • Farm Legal

  • Grassroots Marketing

  • Social Media (Facebook & Instagram)

Each Academy consists of 3 one-hour classes over the course of 3 weeks, diving into specific topics for a given subject. Hosts encourage attendees to interact with the class, giving ‘homework’, asking questions and leading exercises (ex: writing a social media post caption). Courses are $99 - which includes all 3 class sessions, including all materials and resources provided during the class. Existing Barn2Door Account holders can attend one or more Academy classes for free, depending on their Subscription tier. Classes are hosted live, and can be accessed using the sign up link below:

Email Marketing Academy

The Email Marketing Academy helps Farmers implement email best practices, including the Mailchimp integration, to market to their Buyers. The host helps attendees sync their Barn2Door contacts into their Mailchimp account, create groups for targeted marketing and draft newsletters, and automate engagement. Learn how to test emails and understand outcomes to drive sales.

Farm Finance Academy

The Farm Finance Academy is led by a Quickbooks-certified ProAdvisor and owner of Bridging the Gap Financial Services, LLC, Taylor Bridges. She leads Farmers through Accounting fundamentals, navigating Quickbooks Online, as well as organizing finances to ensure your business is set up for success. Learn about revenue and payment tracking, Quickbooks reconciliation and reporting for your financial records and taxes.

Farm Legal Academy

The Farm Legal Academy is hosted by Attorney-at-law Alexia Kulwiec, Executive Director of the Farm-to-Consumer Legal Defense Fund. The classes cover general rules and regulations pertaining to dairy, protein and poultry producers at the federal and state levels. Farmers will be given actionable insights into protecting their legal rights as an independent producer, including suggestions to avoid contentious matters.

The Grassroots Marketing Academy educates Farmers on reaching their ideal customers within their community through brand awareness. Learn how your Farm can partner with other local businesses, attract Buyers with packaging and educate your community with on-Farm events.

The Social Media Academy teaches attendees social media best practices, including how to plan and schedule posts on Facebook and Instagram using the Meta Business Suite. The host shares different types of posts to upload, and how to create engaging content (photos, videos, highlights & stories). Learn how to engage your followers and expand your Farm’s reach online.
