Offer Store Credits to Encourage Sales this Holiday Season

Tis’ the season for two things: good food and gifting! 

Question: How can you put your Farm on their table for holiday dinners, be a Christmas gift or become the center of their holiday conversations? 

Answer: offer Credits to purchase food from your Farm. 

Sell Store Credits as Gift Cards

This season, encourage your customers to give thoughtfully (and conveniently) by buying Gift Cards from your Farm. Your customers love your product, why not let them share that joy? Who doesn’t want amazing local food? It’s a chance for them to give a unique, useful present while also supporting and promoting you --- their Farmer. Not only do you get the cash flow up front, but new customers discover your incredible product!

How it works: your customers purchase Store Credits up front, for example $25 or $100 in credits*. Then they give away those Store Credits as holiday gifts to lucky friends and family. Those ‘new’ customers can now shop anytime on your store and draw down on their Store Credits. At the top of their shopping page they can always see exactly how many Store Credits they have and how many remain! 

Promos to incentivize Store Credit purchases

Apart from Gifts, use Credits to reward loyal customers and create buzz for your Farm. Offer a promo code (e.g. HAPPYHOLIDAYS!) to customers who ‘commit’ to pre-purchasing Credits on your Store! Hint: put the promo code in your store banner. Roll out a promotion now (Special Deal for your Holiday Meal!) to secure sales for upcoming Holiday dinners.
